Poached egg ingredients
1 medium RSPCA Assured egg – as fresh as possible
Fill a small saucepan nearly to the top with water.
Add a dessertspoon of mild vinegar.
Bring the water to the boil.
Break the egg into a ramekin or small cup.
Using a whisk create a whirlpool in the water and drop in the egg gently.
Maintain the heat at a gentle boil (constant small bubbles breaking the surface).
Cook for 4 minutes for set white and runny yolk.
Remove carefully with a slotted spoon.
